Clearly in an exchange based on explicit fic, this next bit is mostly just extra information, but . . . I don’t have PWP listed as a DNW because . . . well, S4S and that’s hard to determine/enforce. But I really do enjoy having the sex be part of a story and for there to be a point to sex happening when it happens. Is it a hookup that leads to a series of comedic meeting? (Like . . . “Oh shit! The guy I hooked up with last weekend is my new boss?!? Are you fucking kidding?”) Does it lead to a whole new depth of a relationship? Does it fulfill a destiny, a mission, a fill-in-the-blank? Whatever it may be, I’d love for it to be a part of the story instead of just sex.
FANDOMS:
Hawkeye –
Clint/Kate and Clint & Kate are my current obsession. Clint Barton is my favorite Avenger, and I’ve grown to adore Kate as well. Neither of them has any special powers or suits or anything like that. They are two ordinary people who step up and become heroes because they have the guts to do what’s right. And they have to practice, work their ass off to stand with the big guys. Also, much as I love the artwork of the comics, I prefer Clint to be the efficient and intelligent secret agent & Avenger – please don’t let him be a disaster. I enjoy them on missions, undercover, or just plain being playful.
Harry Potter –
Sirius/Lily are my current HP obsession. I have no idea why these two work for me, but they do! I love the idea of the pure blood rebel and the Muggleborn genius becoming a unit, a force to be reckoned with. And I’d love to see an exploration of Wizarding culture, and the power of the House of Black – especially if they’re some kind of nobility. How would that work if the future Lady Black is Muggleborn? I also enjoy Lily stepping up as big sister for Regulus. And what if Sirius were Sorted into Slytherin?
(I’m not a big fan of Severus or Dumbledore, so I don’t mind them being dubious/evil/manipulative/etc. But I’m also not against them being good guys if that’s more your thing.)
Ancient Greece –
Hades/Persephone is my favorite pair in all of Greek myth. She’s so powerful as the Queen of the Dead, and he treats her as an equal. I prefer seeing them as deeply in love, and she hates being away from him just as much as he hates her being away.
Dionysus/Ariadne are another favorite, and I love the way he rescues her after she’s abandoned. Anything that shows him helping her recover from the trauma of that would be fantastic! For all that Dionysus is usually shown drunk, or mad, or spilling excess all over the place, I’d prefer to see other sides of him. (Through I’m good with drinking/getting drunk being involved!)
