I’m not here for explicit sex, but for the character connections and relationships, so if you want to explore an asexual character, that works for me as well.
Hawkeye - Clint/Kate – I truly enjoy this partnership at both the romantic and platonic level. I’d prefer Clint not be a complete disaster. He’s this awesome Avenger and badass secret agent . . . I’m pretty sure he knows how to survive day to day. Also, if you want to bring in some of Kate’s background from the comics (such as the assault in Central Park), that works for me too.
Ancient Greece – Hades/Persephone – this is my favorite myth. I prefer it when she is the willing Queen of the Dead. She’s much too peaceful and relaxed in later stories for her to be unhappy. Honestly, feel free to be as fluffy as you want by the end.
Harry Potter – Sirius/Lily – no idea why this couple works for me, but they do. Probably the opposites attract thing . . . and I love the potential for sparks here. I also love the idea of finding connections across what people believe to be impossible distances.
Doctor Who 2005 – Twelfth/Clara – I love these two! Be platonic or be romantic . . . but have them happy together running around the universe/timeline in the TARDIS. I love Twelve being grumpy and standoffish with everyone but Clara. I don’t think there was enough exploration of Clara’s echoes and the ramifications of her jumping into the Doctor’s timeline.
