Give me all the fantasy, supernatural, dark, urban magic stuff you’ve ever wanted to write! Or a Mafia AU because that’s always fun.
I’m not here for explicit sex, but for the character connections and relationships.
You don’t have to include this, but if it is up your alley, I really like multiple levels of relationships. While I don’t like breakup/cheating fics, I enjoy seeing various levels of relationships. So . . . characters A & B are in a strong romantic relationship, but when character B has a particularly tough day, they go cuddle with character. Outsiders are sure they’re dating or having sex, but they’re not – and the other members in the romantic relationship don’t have any jealousy. (And yes, they may even share a bed, but it’s purely for sleep, cuddling, comfort – not sex.) I enjoy romance, but I also truly enjoy explorations of all levels of love – romantic, platonic, familial, etc.
Ancient Greece – Hades/Persephone – I love these two, and my preferred version is Persephone being willing, and staying of her own freewill. Most of the myths, with the exception of the single story of her being abducted, show her as the powerful Queen of the Dead, and Hades being (especially for the Greek gods) a faithful husband. I’d love to see more of their connection and how they became the powerful duo they did.
Hawkeye (2021) - Clint/Kate or Clint & Kate – no, I have no idea why I’m in such a May/December mood, but what can I do? I truly enjoy this partnership at both the romantic and platonic level. I’d prefer Clint not be a complete disaster. He’s this awesome Avenger and badass secret agent . . . I’m pretty sure he knows how to survive day to day. Kate’s got spunk and a willingness to learn.
Doctor Who (2005) - Twelve/Clara or Twelve & Clara – go whichever way you prefer as long as there’s a happy ending for them. I love these two! Be platonic or be romantic . . . but have them happy together running around the universe/timeline in the TARDIS. I love Twelve being grumpy and standoffish with everyone but Clara. I don’t think there was enough exploration of Clara’s echoes and the ramifications of her jumping into the Doctor’s timeline.
The Hobbit – I love fics with Belladonna paired up with either Frerin or Dwalin. The mix of Dwarf & Hobbit culture is always so much fun to explore. It’s why I also enjoy seeing Thorin paired with a female Hobbit – that cultural mix in addition to dealing with the fact that he’s the king. Beyond that, however, I love seeing stories exploring the friendship between Bilbo and the Company (no romance there please).
Hogwarts Legacy – Mirabel Garlick and Aesop Sharp – either platonic or romantic, I’m good with either. The stern former auror and the happy-go-lucky herbologist just strike me as a great pair for the opposites attracting trope. Plus, their classes dovetail nicely. I’d love to see any kind of story, but something with them interacting in particular. It could be before the game, during the game, or after the final battle.
