Dear Fandom Growth Creator,
Thank you so much for being part of this exchange! I’m looking forward to seeing what you create. Hopefully some of these sparks you and you have fun in the writing. Mix and match any of the likes you want, and my only hard lines are the DNWs.

Extra likes – Strong alpha men that are wrapped around the fingers of the women they love. Protective men and women with sass. Dark, edgy characters who use that to protect the innocent and light. And I’m into women who are kickass – especially if it’s NOT in the physical sense. Give me the geniuses, the wise women, the counselors, or the homemakers who know it is the heart of the house that pulls the strings. I have a MAJOR competence kink.
I’ll admit, I’m not into full-on explicit sex. I don’t need – or in most cases, want – to know the play-by-play. What I want is emotional exploration and connection, bonding and growth. If you want to put an E rated scene in there, go for it, but please make the majority of the fic about the characters and their emotional/psychological interactions. (Also, random note, but if you go the A/B/O route, I prefer male alphas and female omegas. Dom/sub – I also prefer male Dom and female sub.)
You don’t have to include this, but if it is up your alley, I really like multiple levels of relationships. While I don’t like breakup/cheating fics, I enjoy seeing various levels of relationships. So . . . characters A & B are in a strong romantic relationship, but when character B has a particularly tough day, they go cuddle with character C or characters A, B, & C are a closed triad, but character A has a strong platonic relationship with character D. Outsiders are sure they’re dating or having sex, but they’re not – and the other characters don’t have any jealousy. (And yes, they may even share a bed, but it’s purely for sleep, cuddling, comfort – not sex.) I enjoy romance, but I also truly enjoy explorations of all levels of love – romantic, platonic, familial, etc.
Fandom Specifics:
The Hobbit – I love the blending of Hobbit & Dwarf cultures as well as their outlooks on life. I think these two peoples would be a great way to balance each other out. Plus, I think connections between the Dwarves and the Hobbits would help soften some of the sharp edges on the two peoples as well as shoring up their weaknesses. Either of these relationships would bring Belladonna into the royal family . . . and how does that work?
Frerin/Belladonna Took – Because I think Frerin needs some happiness. There must be some verse where he gets to live past the battle of Moria . . .
Dwalin/Belladonna Took – The idea of these two both amuse and interest me because I think they would be such an example of opposites attracting.
Chronicles of Narnia –
Peter Pevensie/Jill Pole – This is a couple that has intrigued me for a while because it’s got to be tough to find people who understand you when you’ve lived such a unique life. I’d love to see them in Narnia, but the regular world works too. For me, Jill & Eustace are platonic soulmates, so them being close friends would also be an awesome thing. How does it work if one of the Kings or Queens of Narnia gets married? What is it like to live in the court at Cair Paravel?
Dark is Rising –
Will Stanton/Jane Drew – this is an old favorite. I loved this mythos and would love to see an exploration of the Dark threatening to return and how that would work with these kids all grown up. Will struck me as so interesting, this kid who found himself part of an immortal army of Light – and then stepping into the roll of the watchman when they won? It must have been tough. And Jane – always on that line between mortal and immortal worlds . . . How did it affect her? If they suddenly have to come back to the fight, what does it mean? What does it do?
Talents Series –
Kincaid Dano & Laria Raven-Lyon – I loved the connection between these two. They’re so connected, and although the relationship becomes sexual, it’s due to outside psychic influence. Still, they have this deep platonic connection and share a child. I would love to see more exploration of how they share home, work, and life on a day-to-day basis. Laria is straight and Kincaid is gay – thus the sex only happening due to psychic influence. But outside relationships are difficult due to the psychic connection Laria & Kincaid share.
Witch World –
Simon Tregarth/Jaelithe – This is one of my first OTPs because my grandmother introduced me to science fiction and Andre Norton. Simon escapes from our world to another world that combines magic and science. He’s a man out of place and she’s a woman of Power. Then she chooses to give up her place in her sisterhood to join her life to his. They become movers and shakers in their world and their connection changes the future. Anything at all would be fantastic!
Marvel Cinematic Universe –
Clint Barton & Kate Bishop & Wanda Maximoff – In the movies and the show, Clint is the one who takes responsibility for the younger ones. He steps up to protect, support, guide, or prod them along.
Clint Barton/Jane Foster – This relationship intrigues me. Clint is often written off as a purely physical presence, and it would be nice to see someone take notice of his intelligence and mental/emotional abilities.
James Barnes/Clint Barton/Darcy Lewis/Natasha Romanoff – The intern and the three spies. This quartet amuses me with the vibes of “which of these items doesn’t match the others”. I particularly enjoy Darcy in all her cat-herding, scientist-managing glory dealing with these three dark characters.
James Barnes/Clint Barton/Jane Foster – Again, another intriguing relationship – the genius and the snipers. Do they start as bodyguards and become more? Do they get caught up in one of her experiments?
CSI: NY – On any and/or all of these, I’d love to see them working together on a case or dealing with the fall out from a tough one. Anything that highlights the way they help each other make it through some of the terrible things they see.
Adam Ross & Mac Taylor – this connection has a definite mentor & mentored vibe. Maybe even a familial in a way. But Adam starts so nervous and skittish in the show, but by the end, he’s got this new strength and confidence . . . and I think Mac contributes a good deal.
Jo Danville & Adam Ross – their vibe is big sister and little brother to me. She’s got a teasing way of helping pull him out of his head, and I think he forms a strong connection of trust with her.
Lindsay Monroe & Mac Taylor – Father & daughter vibes for the win. He’s her daughter’s godfather, but I’m betting there’s a good strong sense of grandfather’s vibes as well.
Don Flack/Danny Messer/Lindsay Monroe – I love these three characters and their interactions always make me grin. Danny/Lindsay has been my favorite in this show since the beginning, but a couple of episodes made me consider this trio.
Hawkeye –
Clint Barton/Laura Barton/Kate Bishop – Clint is my all-time favorite character of the MCU, and I really enjoyed the TV series. Kate as a romantic interest is new, but it’s one of the few May/December romances that has caught my attention. How do they all balance the home and hero business? It would be interesting to me if Clint’s romantically connected to both women, and they’ve got a platonic bond.
Wind River –
Cory Lambert & Jane Banner – I love the father-daughter vibes between these two. Jane’s got all of the fire of a young agent, someone who wants to change the world, while Cory’s got an experienced, tired air. He’s seen the impossibility of changing the world . . . and forgotten that sometimes what you do can change the world for someone. I’d love to see more exploration of this connection, especially in his neck of the woods.
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland –
Alice/Mad Hatter | Jefferson – Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite stories, and I’ve got almost every version ever made for movie or TV as well as variations in different books. I enjoyed this version of Alice, her being so grown-up and competent without being depressing. Jefferson always struck me as walking that line between sane and mad so well. It’s so easy to go too far one way or the other. I’d love to see something exploring them making a connection and trying to navigate between worlds. Extra kudos and cookies if you include Jefferson’s daughter Grace and, of course, Will the Knave.
Hopefully I’ve given you something to spark your creative juices!
Thank you so much,
Caiti
