Prisoner's Exchange 2024 Letter
Dear Prisoner’s Exchange 2024 Creator,
Thank you so much for being part of this exchange! This is one of my guilty pleasures in fan fiction, so I’m seriously looking forward to seeing what you create. Hopefully some of this will spark your creativity and you will have fun writing. Mix and match any of the likes you want, and my only hard lines are the DNWs. Have fun! . . . I’m so looking forward to what you come up with!
Exchange specific note – any position (captor, visitor, etc.) not specifically filled by a noted character is open to your choice. I’ve included a few ideas of my favorite characters (good and bad) since some of my freeform choices include said positions, but these are JUST suggestions and you can keep or toss as you prefer.
DNWs:
1st or 2nd person POV
Anti-religion/Religion bashing
Major character death – unless part of reincarnation or afterlife AU
Unhappy endings – bittersweet is okay though

Breakup/cheating/infidelity fics (wiggle room for dub-con)

And I’m into women who are kickass – especially if it’s NOT in the physical sense. Give me the geniuses, the wise women, the counselors, or the homemakers who know it is the heart of the house that pulls the strings.
I have a MAJOR competence kink.
Give me all the fantasy, supernatural, dark, urban magic stuff you’ve ever wanted to write! Or a Mafia AU because that’s always fun.
I’m not here for explicit sex, but for the character connections and relationships.
You don’t have to include this, but if it is up your alley, I really like multiple levels of relationships. While I don’t like breakup/cheating fics, I enjoy seeing various levels of relationships. So . . . characters A & B are in a strong romantic relationship, but when character B has a particularly tough day, they go cuddle with character. Outsiders are sure they’re dating or having sex, but they’re not – and the other members in the romantic relationship don’t have any jealousy. (And yes, they may even share a bed, but it’s purely for sleep, cuddling, comfort – not sex.) I enjoy romance, but I also truly enjoy explorations of all levels of love – romantic, platonic, familial, etc.
Doctor Who (2005) –
Twelve/Clara or Twelve & Clara is my obsession in this fandom – go whichever way you prefer as long as there’s a happy ending for them. I love these two! Be platonic or be romantic . . . but have them happy together running around the universe/timeline in the TARDIS. I love Twelve being grumpy and standoffish with everyone but Clara. As far as Missy goes, she is my favorite version of the Master, but I like her best as the BAD guy. Crazy, yes, but also the definite villain.
Harry Potter (JKR) –
Hermione Granger with either Lucius Malfoy or Severus Snape – this is one of the ships where the name calling has some wiggle room. “Mudblood” is obviously an in-canon slur, plus I figure these two would figure out a way to use pet names as slurs as well. It’s all in the tone and context. For some reason, these are a bit of a guilty pleasure, especially in a darker world.
Other characters I like for HP: Bill Weasley (good), Dolores Umbridge (bad), Bellatrix Lestrange (bad), Fleur Delacour (good), Luna Lovegood (good)
Sirius Black/Lily Evans is a new favorite of mine because I think Sirius has the potential to walk the line between light and dark so no one is quite sure which side he will come down on. Plus I think he’s got that possessive & protective side. I’m also good with the two of them in a triad with James Potter – as long as Lily doesn’t become a token.
Other characters I like for HP: Bill Weasley (good), Dolores Umbridge (bad), Bellatrix Lestrange (bad), Fleur Delacour (good), Luna Lovegood (good), Lucius Malfoy (bad), Severus Snape (bad)
Remus Lupin/Narcissa Black – no, I don’t know why these two work for me, but they really do. The werewolf and the pureblood . . . I love the idea of them finding happiness. Granted, Narcissa has to be a bit OOC, but isn’t that what fanfic is for?
Other characters I like for HP: Bill Weasley (good), Dolores Umbridge (bad), Bellatrix Lestrange (bad), Fleur Delacour (good), Luna Lovegood (good), Lucius Malfoy (bad), Severus Snape (bad)
MCU –
Clint Barton & Kate Bishop – Another current favorite of mine. I truly enjoy this partnership at both the romantic and platonic level. I’d prefer Clint not be a complete disaster. He’s this awesome Avenger and badass secret agent . . . I’m pretty sure he knows how to survive day to day. Kate is adorable in her wide-eyed innocence, but such promise as well.
Other characters I like for MCU: Natasha (good), Loki (bad), Tony (good), Ross (bad), Wanda (good), Ultron (bad).
Teen Wolf –
Derek/Allison – Something about these two just work for me. I enjoy Allison’s character growth over the series, and how much she grows. Derek has always been a favorite, and I enjoy when he gets the chance to be the hero.
Other characters I like for TW: multiple for good – Chris, Melissa, Peter, Lydia, Stiles. For bad – all the Argents other than Chris & Allison?
